Folded postcards are even better. They combine the strength of both the traditional greeting card and postcard. It is folded like the greeting card, but it treated like the postcard.
Why should you use folded postcards? Here’s a clue: the best way to market is when your clients are relaxed and their guards are down. The worst time to market is when they are harried, stressed out, and in a hurry.

Sending out postcards lands your advertisements right at your prospective client’s doorsteps. They can pick it up with their regular mail and sort it out over a cup of coffee. It is far more preferable than competing for their attention in a crowded street or interrupting their favorite TV program.

No wonder direct-mail-advertising has the highest readability for intended target audience among all print materials. It places them at their comfort zones where they are relaxed and in their own element.

Folded postcards are even better. They combine the strength of both the traditional greeting card and postcard. It is folded like the greeting card, but it treated like the postcard.

1.    Folded postcard doubles your space two-folds, quite literally. You have a tremendous amount of liberty to create designs and insert more text for your readers to ponder on.

2.    You can mail folded postcards with or without an occasion as is sometimes required of greeting cards. This way it doesn’t have to compete with the high traffic of advertisements that get delivered to their doorstep on holidays. It can even be a welcome reprieve from the stack of bills, bills, and bills on a regular day.

3.    Postcards, even folded ones can be sent out without an envelope. Although envelopes are needed to hold together letters, bills, or brochures, they can be a barrier to readability. There are some prints that get thrown away even with the envelope still on. With postcards, the client can see the cover instantly.

4.    With these postcards, you can pique your customer’s interest with your cover page and still leave the details to the inside of the card. This affords the card more privacy for more sensitive content. (Advertising for hair growth tonic for instance) It also hides the obvious content of the postcards giving it a sense of mystery.

5.    You can also use the added pages the fold affords you. There is more room for organizing the details of your information. The front cover can be filled with fine print and details of your offer. While the back can hold the name and address information of the receiver and postal marks. The inside cover pages can hold a whole spread of your message generously too!

6.    These postcards are perfect if you want clients to respond to the mail. Indicate a line that will allow them to cut your folded postcards in half. Better yet, have it perforated for easy tearing.

7.    You may use the other half as a survey form, order form, etc. Print your office address or PO Box printed at the back of the postcard with the postal mark that indicates the postal stamps are prepaid. Make your survey easy with check boxes the customers can simply fill it up and drop it off in a mailbox with the rest of their mail.

Direct-mail-marketing has a lot of success stories down its belt.  Folded postcards has boosted sales for many small companies, and is continually used and advised by many marketing experts. Include your folded postcards to your marketing mix, and your clients just might end up at your store’s doorstep.
